BAPTISM
“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God…”
Eph 2:8
As Lutherans we practice infant baptism. Why as infants? Well, we believe, that we are saved only by
God's grace and this salvation is a free gift to all. There is nothing we can do to earn this gift of eternal
life. Because we believe in this grace of God, we bring our children to be adopted into God's Family. At
this time the parents promise to raise them in the Christian faith by bringing them to church faithfully,
by teaching them the scriptures.
Even though Infant Baptism is our practice, it is never too late for anyone to be baptized into the
Christian faith.
