First Lutheran Church is hosting a two-part benefit sale to support two important causes:
Local Community Need – One portion of the sale will benefit a community member who has been recovering from a serious health crisis for over five years. This individual, along with others, has generously donated items for the sale. Proceeds will go toward home repairs, with a special focus on restoring functioning indoor plumbing before winter.
Kodiak, Alaska Lutheran Church – The second portion of the sale will help with roof and repairs after severe storms hit the area.
Date & Time Saturday, September 13, 2025 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Location: First Lutheran Church parking lot. (Inside if weather requires)
Online Sale & Donations Watch our Facebook page for details, photos, and links to larger items being listed online. A GoFundMe page will also be available for donations to either cause.
Any contribution—big or small—will make a difference!
Other Ways ANYONE Can Help
Donate items: Bring smaller items to the church on Friday, September 12, 2025, between 2–4 PM.
Assist with setup: Help set up the sale from 7–8 AM on Saturday, September 13.
Post larger items: Send photos of larger donations to geri@firstlutheranottumwa or bsbrown15@gmail.com for the online sale.
Donate & share: Contribute through GoFundMe and spread the word to friends and neighbors.
Help online: Volunteer to monitor or assist with the online sale during the event. Delivery support: Assist in arranging or delivering purchased items to buyers. Together, we can be a blessing to our community and our brothers and sisters in Christ .
